We humans put our bodies through a lot, and most of us will, at some point, suffer an injury to our musculoskeletal system. Trauma to our bones, muscles and joints can come from sports injuries, or accident-related injuries. These can include: muscle strains or tears; bone breaks or stress fractures; and joint trauma such as dislocations, sprains, or damage to tendons or ligaments. While some minor injuries will improve with home care and rest, more serious injuries should be examined by an orthopedic physician. For severe orthopedic trauma, Dr. Marchwiany can perform restorative surgery to help a patient regain function and alleviate pain from an orthopedic injury.

ORTHOPEDIC TRAUMA SURGERY

As an orthopedic trauma surgeon, Dr. Marchwiany specializes in the treatment of broken bones, torn ligaments, complex fractures, and other orthopedic injuries. Traumatic events, such as falls, automobile accidents, or sports injuries, can result in significant damage to the bones and joints. In some cases, surgery is needed to remedy these issues. This is especially true when bones or joint structures need to be realigned in order for the patient to regain full functionality. In the event of a trauma, it is always best to seek the advice and proper care from a physician who specializes in orthopedics, and trauma in particular.
